TOGETHER WITH
Good morning Tampa!
Tampa Theatre turns 100 today. It opened its doors on Oct. 15, 1926.
It's going to hit 90 today, but the weekend cools off into the low 80s. In this edition, we have...
A free art fair with 110 artists downtown
A free Oktoberfest at the Yuengling brewery
Vintage Market Days in Plant City
And more!
Presented by Bright Lights Tampa
Any Color You Want
Christmas light season is here, and install dates are filling up.
Drew and the Bright Lights Tampa crew install permanent lights that can run classic warm white or full color. You switch between them from your phone.
They stay up all year, so there's nothing to hang next November.
Tampa Loop readers get 15% off when they book by Halloween. That's about two weeks away, so grab a spot now before the calendar fills up!
Art Fair Tampa Brings 110 Artists Downtown
Art Fair Tampa makes its debut at the Tampa Convention Center this weekend. It's free to walk in Friday through Sunday.
You'll find 110 artists from around the country and more than 100,000 square feet of art. Artists do live demos, and there are workshops if the grandkids tag along.
It's all indoors, so the heat won't matter. Saturday gets busy downtown with the Pig Jig, so Friday or Sunday is the easier day to park.
When: Friday 10/16 and Saturday 10/17, 10am to 6pm, and Sunday 10/18, 10am to 4pm
Where: Tampa Convention Center, 333 S Franklin St, Downtown
Cost: Free. Thursday's VIP opening night (5pm to 10pm, wine and first pick of the art) takes a ticket.
A Free Oktoberfest at the Yuengling Brewery Saturday
Yuengling Draft Haus & Kitchen throws a free Oktoberfest on Saturday from 5 to 10pm. It sits right next to the Yuengling brewery on 30th Street.
The Bearded Brothers play from 6pm. There's Oktoberfest food and beer, plus stein-holding contests all night.
You don't need a ticket to get in. It's a short drive from Lutz and Wesley Chapel, and you skip downtown entirely.
When: Saturday 10/17, 5pm to 10pm, with music from 6pm
Where: Yuengling Draft Haus & Kitchen, 11109 N 30th St, North Tampa
Cost: Free to get in. Food and beer are extra.
Vintage Market Days in Plant City This Weekend
Vintage Market Days sets up at the Strawberry Festival grounds in Plant City Friday through Sunday. Tickets are $12.
Vendors sell antiques, original art, old clothes, jewelry and home decor. There are plants and snacks too.
Friday is the early buying day, so go then for the best pick. Your ticket gets you back in all weekend.
When: Friday 10/16 and Saturday 10/17, 10am to 4pm, and Sunday 10/18, 11am to 3pm
Where: Florida Strawberry Festival grounds, Grimes Building and Astin Pavilion, 2508 W Oak Ave, Plant City
Cost: $12 / Kids under 12 free
Tip: It's about 20 minutes from Brandon on I-4. Cash and cards both work at the gate.
